Opportunities for interaction with scientists of CSIR-SERC
CSIR-SERC provides number of avenues through which students, research scholars, working professionals and general public, at large, can visit the laboratory and interact with the scientists. Some of the avenues are described below
CSIR-SERC organizes number of training programmes / courses towards fulfilling the emphasis made by CSIR for skilling / reskilling of the potential human resource. The courses are classified as Advanced or as Certificate depending on the duration and the composition of target participants. Project Thesis Work of Engineering Students
Excellent opportunities are available to bright undergraduate and post graduate engineering students of selected disciplines to carry out their final year project thesis work under the guidance of the scientists of CSIR-SERC. Selection of students is based on their interest and academic performance. The announcement will be made around June-July every year in our website and the application can be submitted online.
Professor G.S. Ramaswamy Internship for Undergraduate / Dual Degree Students:
CSIR-SERC extends training opportunity to meritorious students of selected engineering disciplines in reputed institutions. The internship is offered in honour of the founder Director of CSIR-SERC, Prof. G.S. Ramaswamy. At present, maximum number of internship per year is restricted to 10. The internship is normally for a period of 6 to 8 weeks on full-time basis without break during the month of May-June every year. The announcement will be made in the month of March every year in our website and the application and the credentials can be submitted online.
Technical Visit of Students and Faculty of Engineering / Architecture Institutions:
The students and faculty of engineering / architecture institutions can make a technical visit to CSIR-SERC as group. The visit is organized normally for a duration of about 4-5 hours to explain and showcase the salient facilities and R&D activities. The visit can be arranged on a working day throughout the year with prior permission. More details about this can be had from Head, SHRDD, Email: email@example.com.
Open Day at CSIR-SERC:
September 26, 1942 marks the inauguration of CSIR. In commemoration, on September 26 of every year, the laboratory is kept open to receive general visitors. The visitors will be shown the facilities and encouraged to interact with the staff of CSIR-SERC on the impact made due to the R&D activities.
